The Legendary Harry’s Bar is Tuscaloosa’s oldest, most notorious drinking establishment. Founded by Harry Hammonds back in 1972, Harry’s has been West Alabama’s most iconic party spot for generations.

We’ve got pool, Harryoke, Krazy Buck-Its, penny beers and a whole lot of fun.

Harry’s has lived in the same building for over 50 years, and we’re not going anywhere.

Your nanna’s number is probably on our wall.
Here’s Harry back in his glory days.

Former Crimson Tide Basketball star, Joe Namath’s roommate, infamous poon hound and savvy businessman, Harry was a legend in his own right.

Everyone in Tuscaloosa has a Harry story, and most of them are true (or mostly true).

His aura still lingers around the bar today, and we’ve kept it just like he would have wanted.

Soldier, husband, father, lover. Jake French has owned Harry’s since 2008.

He’s been a staple of Tuscaloosa’s bar and restaurant scene for over 20 years – since Mellow Mushroom was cool and local music was everywhere.

Jake’s in the process of opening another joint across town. More on that soon.

An Army guy headbutted Jake’s military photo because Marines look cooler in uniform. True story.
